My husband enjoys Mozart so he was really pleased to hear that BBC Radio 3 are running a 12 day Mozart Festival during the first 12 days of January. To help him enjoy this I’ve bought him a book which covers the complete works of Mozart. I understand that he plans to tick each piece off as he enjoys this festival. If you are looking for a last minute Christmas present for a lover of classical music you might want to pop into a local bookstore and purchase a Mozart Guide and make sure that they know about this festival. My husband also enjoys his HiFI and I understand that he’s really pleased that the BBC are now transmitting Radio 3 in what they call HD Sound over the Internet. From what I understand that’s just a term their marketing people have come up with, technically they are just transmitting in a higher bit rate to give a better, richer sound. It looks like this new service has been introduced just in time for the Mozart Festival and should help make it even more special. He’s not convinced it’s any better than a really good VHF / FM signal, but worth checking out.
Anyway I hope your preparation for Christmas Day is going well. If you’ve got any last minute planning tips you would like to share please let me know.
