Which is good news, because the 3-for-2 remains the single most efficient way to clear the long tail of the Christmas list — teachers, neighbours, the ballet teacher, both stockings — in one pass between drop-off and pilates. Is there a Boots Christmas catalogue this year?
If your mother kept the Boots catalogue on the kitchen table from October — pages circled in biro, corners turned down on the No7 sets — you grew up with a genuine British ritual. We have been writing about it on this site since 2011. The ritual now happens on your phone: the gift guide is published online at boots.com from early autumn, with seasonal brochures in larger stores and, for the 2024 and 2025 seasons, an accessible large-print PDF edition that was the closest thing to the catalogue of old (the 2026 edition tends to follow once the full range is in). Different format; the list-making pleasure survives.

The 3-for-2: still the main event
The Boots 3-for-2 mix-and-match on Christmas gifts remains the centrepiece — in recent years it has covered well over a thousand gift sets, from No7 and Soap & Glory to toys and fragrance. The arithmetic that made your mother a December regular still holds: buy three, pay for two, the cheapest is free. Treat it as a logistics exercise, which is what it is. Keep one running list of every small present the season demands — class teacher, teaching assistant, swimming coach, the neighbours who take the parcels, both stockings — then clear the lot in a single deliberate basket. Twenty minutes, done, and nothing left to remember in the week before term ends.
When does the Christmas range appear?
For 2026 the answer is: it already has. The 3-for-2 mix-and-match went live on boots.com in the first week of September — we counted just under 900 qualifying gift sets on 14 September, from No7, Soap & Glory and Champneys through to the stocking-filler end of the range — and the in-store version normally follows in October, once the seasonal bays are built. The pattern of the last few years is the same one: online first, stores a month behind, the range at its widest in October and thinning steadily from late November.
Advent calendars moved earlier still. On 2 September Boots launched three own-label calendars, online only and gone when they are gone: the 24 Days of Luxe Beauty (the big one, mostly full sizes), the 24 Days of Skin (a K-beauty-leaning skincare edit at a gentler price) and, new this year, a 12 Days of Scent fragrance calendar built around a full-size Givenchy. The No7 calendars sit alongside them as usual. The rule has not changed: if a particular calendar matters to you, or to a daughter with strong opinions, buy it the day you see it. The good ones do not survive half-term, and this year half-term is later than the sell-out.
Shopping it well: a three-step plan
First, sign in to your Advantage Card before you buy anything — the points on a big Christmas shop are not trivial, and the card unlocks member pricing on plenty of gift sets. Second, do the 3-for-2 in one deliberate basket so the discount lands on items of similar value — three £15 sets, not two £30s and a £5. Third, in the last fortnight skip home delivery altogether: click-and-collect into the store you already pass on the school run is the option that cannot let you down.

Not in the doorstep form of the 2010s. Larger stores carry seasonal brochures, and for the last two seasons Boots has published an accessible large-print PDF gift guide online — but the main gift guide now lives on boots.com.
When does the Boots 3-for-2 start?
In 2026 it started online in early September and was running on boots.com by the first week of the month; the in-store offer usually follows in October and both run through to Christmas Eve. The selection is widest early and thinnest in the final week.
Are Boots gift sets actually good value?
The branded sets in the 3-for-2 generally work out well against buying the contents separately — that is the point of the promotion — but compare the set price against the standalone product on big-ticket fragrance, where discounts elsewhere can be sharper.
