It’s looking like a classic Christmas this year…

Disney will debut their version of A Christmas Carol in cinemas from November 6th this year.  The film is written and directed by filmmaker Robert Zemeckis, of everything from Back to the Future to Who Framed Roger Rabbit to Forrest Gump to Contact to his past CGI movies The Polar Express and Beowulf previously.   The film is based on Charles Dickens’ classic story. Jim Carrey stars as at least four different characters in the film, alongside of Gary Oldman, Robin Wright Penn, Colin Firth, Cary Elwes, and Bob Hoskins.

It will be interesting to see how closely they stick to the original story.   For me the best version of A Christmas Carol was performed by Patrick Stewart in his one man show.

Meanwhile there are rumors that the BBC will be repeating a Morecambe & Wise Christmas show or doing something else special with it.
