If you are looking for a small, stylish gift for a friend, sister or co-worker then consider a handbag hook. When you sit down in a café you either have to put your handbag on a chair or on the floor. There’s nothing worse than putting your handbag on a dirty floor. There’s also the risk that while you are talking, someone can easily walk off with your handbag. Handbag Hooks help to solve this problem. iAdoreYour Gifts & Jewellery have a range of Handbag Hooks from Handbag Butler from £17.50 including free UK P&P.
Here’s a YouTube video of an interview with the people from Handbag Butler which show you in more detail how these handbag hooks work:

I’ve just had my first mince pie of the season. While I don’t think you can beat a good homemade mince pie the Duchy Originals Organic Mince Pie I just tried was wonderful. It’s all butter shortcrust pastry was just right and the mincemeat had a lovely taste and aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. So if you run out of time or can’t face making your own mince pies I can recommend these.
It hardly seems possible but in just a months time it will be Christmas Day – in fact by the time you read this it will more likely be a month until Boxing Day. It’s likely to be a bumper weekend in the shops and online as many more people start their Christmas shopping. I’m glad I’ve got my Christmas shopping all sorted out so I don’t have to brave the crowds on the high street this weekend. If you haven’t done so already you might like to check out my November Christmas Planning Guide.
Christmas is a good time of year to try and do some good and consider giving a Fair Trade Christmas present. During the recent downturn people have been spending less on Fair Trade and Organic products, this is understandable but it’s worth sparing a thought for the small producers who rely on selling their products for their income.
There are many lovely fair trade gifts on the market this Christmas which are stylish and ethical. To start with have a look at the Nkuku Fair Trade gifts:
It’s being reported that oil tankers are ankered in the North Sea refusing to dock because the longer they stay out at sea the more valuable their cargo becomes. With petrol expected to reach a record high before Christmas many will have to think twice before running to the stores in their car. If you can’t face trying to make your way home on public transport with all your Christmas presents then shopping online is by far your best alternative. I’m not aware of any research to confirm my theory but I would be surprised if the carbon footprint of online purchases is a fraction of that involved in bricks and mortar. By the time you’ve driven through the traffic jams, sat in the queue for the car park and finally made your way into to a brightly lit, over heated high street store only to find that they have sold out of what you are looking for, you could have done all your shopping on-line.
The main downside with buying online is needing to be at home to sign for the delivery but good sites like our sponsors iAdoreYour Gifts & jewellery allow you for a small fee to specify the delivery date, so you can schedule the delivery for a Saturday or a day you know you’re going to be at home. Many sites also allow you to specfify your office or workplace as a delivery address.
The best advice is as ever, get your shopping online or on the high street out of the way as early as possible this year.
